Our On-Campus Therapeutic Foster Care program provides a natural home environment for a maximum of eight children. Foster parents provide nurturing, structure, and a teaching curriculum to help the children manage and overcome the emotional scars of child abuse, and teach them valuable life skills. The family-style environment allows the youth to participate in normal family activities, such as meal preparation, family outings, homework, chores and games. The children are also involved in individual and group counseling, independent living programs, motivational workshops, devotional programs and vocational programs. Education is a high priority at High Sky. All children attend public school, have mandatory study hours and have tutors available to them. In the On-Campus Foster Care Program, children ages 0-8 reside in one of our campus youth homes with a foster care couple. The couple provides a natural home setting where children are taught family living, as well as, independent living skills and participate in normal family activities. Children in the On-Campus Foster Care Program also receive a variety of services including therapy, academic services and recreational activities. The Community Foster Care Program is designed for children ages 0-18 who have lower level of care needs or are in need of a community home setting. High Sky recruits and trains community area couples who are willing to open their homes to children in need. High Sky's staff works closely with the foster families to provide on-going training, development and continuous support. |
